Aesthetic Peels
Rox-san Compounding Pharmacy’s lines of aesthetic peels are available in various strengths, formulations and sizes. Deeper peeling class of acids used for acne, lines and wrinkles, hyper pigmentation, scarring.
Longer lasting results and more intensive these peels penetrate the epidermis, into the upper layers of the dermis, thus producing a more effective peeling experience. Always begin with a low strength, as your first effort. Always patch-test the skin before applying on the entire facial area.
TCA (10-50%)
Deeper peeling classes of acids used for acne, lines, wrinkles, hyper pigmentation, scarring. Longer lasting results, more intensive. These peels penetrate the epidermis, into the upper layers of the dermis, thus producing a more effective peeling experience. Always begin with a low strength, as your first effort. Always patch-test the skin before applying on the entire facial area.
Salicylic Acid (20-30%)
Oil soluble, thus making acids perfect for oily/acne skin that needs deep pore cleansing, and loosening of blackheads. Use our 3%, 5%, and 8% betas as a “first-step” when using alpha hydroxyl acid peels to remove all oils from the skin, or use alone 3-4 times per week for oil/blackhead control. Use our 15% salicylic peel or our Fruit Enzyme Peel w/10% Salicylic Acid, once a week only. A beta hydroxyl, salicylic acid penetrates the upper layers of the epidermis only.
Lactic Acid
Derived from milk, milder that glycolic acid, and typically better for working on hyper pigmentation problems. Our formulation contains licorice extract, an effective skin lightening additive. Appropriate for dry skin or oily skin. Lactic Acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid, this peel penetrates the epidermis-only.
Glycolic Acid (up to 70%)
Glycolic acid is a good all-around acid for normal-oily skin types to exfoliate the skin, provide anti-aging benefits, and to treat acne. Glycolic acids are harsher than lactic acids, glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxyl and penetrates the epidermis-only.
Jessner Solution
Based in alcohol, this is a drying peel best suited for oily acneic skin types. Containing alpha and beta hydroxides along with resorcinol, this peel penetrates more deeply that an alpha or beta peel but less deeply that a TCA. Not recommended for sensitive skin. Not recommended for dry skin.
Phenol
This is the strongest of chemical peels, and is reserved for individuals with deep wrinkles from sun exposure or is used to treat skin wrinkling around the lips and chin area. The procedure diminishes imperfections in sun-damaged, unevenly pigmented, or coarsely wrinkled facial areas by peeling away the skins top layers.
Resorcinol
As an acne treatment, resorcinol has a keratolytic effect, causing dead cells to slough off. The top layer of skin is removed, and pores unclogged.
Retinoic Acid
Retinol (Vitamin A) was discovered to peel the skin to reduce wrinkles, pigment spots and helped to reverse the skin damage.
